The May 2019 Clearing The Energy Witches Box

This box is both a return to basic and a deepening of what is typically thought of as a basic practice in Witchcraft.

Clearing the space, clearing the energy, clearing out negativity… all these things are what we turn to when we have had a rough day and need to shift our vibe and cast off anything we might have picked up. It’s what we do when we are about to do ritual or cast a spell or moving into a new home.

We clear the space to recalibrate, to reset, to clear the palate so that we might sent the purest intention for what we want the space or ourselves or an object to be.

There are so many ways to do this, and this box provides you with several.

The Bell and the Broom, we will go into depth about in our Deep Dive Gathering. This is also true of the Sacred Clearing Smoke, but I wanted to share a bit about that here as well.

This Witches Apothecary Incense blend came out of a need to cleanse the space or myself or an item of any negativity without defaulting to the misappropriating habit of using sage in a manner that resembles smudging.

I love sage. I do. It grows abundantly around the lower edges of this mountain I call home when I’m here. But there is so much pain around appropriating living spiritual traditions that it inspired me to do this differently for all of us wanting to use smoke, but not wanting to be insensitive towards another culture.

Our plant allies offer up so many powers and gifts. There are other blends that are perfect for the intention of cleansing a space with smoke and it stands alone, separate from the complex and beautiful practice of smudging that belongs to Native Peoples.

I personally blend this as the moon wanes and it is one of my most used and most favorite Witches Apothecary items… next to the Spell Boost Oil, of course!
