The Tower card can be harsh. On the journey of the Fool there will be times throughout her life where the inside doesn’t match the outside, or the life and journey being lived isn’t in alignment with what the soul craves, needs or is called to be.

When this happens in our lives, there will always be an inevitable course correction, some jarring interruption to where you’re heading or how you’re heading there. It never feels good, it never seems to be something you see coming and it can feel quite traumatizing at times.

Either through divine intervention or the higher and deeper wisdom of your soul, if you are heading down a path you shouldn’t, something is going to yank you off that track.

The problem here is that if you are on the ‘wrong’ track to begin with, or lets call it what it really is, if you are not in alignment with the path and calling of your healthy expressed soul, you typically aren’t consciously aware of it. Denial can keep us moving down a path that doesn’t suit us for quite a long time. Sometimes lifetimes.

So when that course correction hits, it isn’t always clear why this is happening and this confusion makes things more traumatic.

The Tower Card Reversed

This card, doesn’t mess around. And it’s interesting to note that the Tower card reversed is a signifier that you are somehow avoiding this course correction, which in the end, at least in my opinion, makes things worse in the long run.

To be avoiding the truth, or the inevitable means that you are invested in and clinging onto a lived path that isn’t the place you were made to be in. And having this card turn up in a reading reversed doesn’t at all save you from the shift coming at some point down the road.

Like the Temperance card, there are volumes I could write about the Tower, and perhaps in the second round of posts that cover each card in the deck, I’ll go deeper with this one. But for now, it’s important to know that when impact is coming, relax and embrace. Bracing for impact is in many ways resistance and that only causes more damage.
