Inner Revealings Tarot: August 5, 2018
Inner Revealings Tarot is a weekly opportunity to consult the cards for a set of questions with which to practice Self Inquiry. Each Sunday, 4 cards will open a door to deeper self-knowledge. All that’s needed is a journal, tea and some quiet time to reflect and dive in.

Questions
- Are there places in your life choices right now where you are self-sacrificing in order to get some unspoken reward or validation?
- Are there circumstances in your life right now where asking specifically for what you need and being explicit about your expectations can be a more direct, honest and fair manner in which to get your needs met?
- Conversely, is there a situation right now where you feel obligated to meet someone’s expectations of you, which you haven’t explicitly agreed to meet, but are engaged in a dynamic of guilt?
Sometimes asking for what you need directly will be met with a no. That truth needs to be honored. Sometimes it’s a sign that the need was never intended to be met there to begin with. Manipulating in order to get what you need only entangles you both in a dynamic of obligation, resentment and pain.
As well, if you find yourself on the receiving end of this type of manipulation and you feel guilty about not meeting expectations that you never agreed to begin with, explore the liberating experience of “No”. Boundaries are more honest and loving than obligation.
