  • Modality: Cardinal
  • Ruler: Mars
  • Themes: Emotional climax, releasing the old, new pathways in the horizon.

ABOUT FULL MOONS

Every month the Moon reaches its fuller phase when it makes an exact opposition with the Sun. It’s the peak of the lunar cycle, when emotions are heightened and when something subconscious rises into the conscious awareness. Also, it symbolizes completion, when we see the results of what we began during the New Moon of its same zodiac sign. This makes it perfect to celebrate if you see the blooms of the seeds you planted and/or an opportunity for reflection and gaining emotional clarity on a situation.

FULL MOON IN ARIES

The Full Moon will occur at 20 degrees Aries, a fiery and cardinal sign, ruled by warrior Mars. As in every Libra Season, we reach the climax in the sign of Aries, and thus, we meet the balance between what both signs rule respectively: relationships and individuality. The two luminaries will be making a tense aspect to Pluto, making this lunar event about becoming aware of aspects of our shadow or releasing and breaking free from what has kept us in the darkness. However, both will be making a harmonious aspect to Jupiter, letting us know that outside the cave there is a broad horizon waiting for us to explore. Therefore, this Full Moon will be bringing new opportunities, experiences and opening new pathways. The initiative and fiery qualities of Aries will impulse us to take action, liberate ourselves what no longer serves and to open ourselves up to the unknown.

LIBRA SEASON

Libra is the seventh sign of the zodiac and it’s the one that opposes the sign of “Me”, Aries, ruler of the first house of self. For instance, Libra is the sign of the other, as it’s the ruler of the area of relationships, the seventh house. In addition, it’s ruled by the goddess of love, thus, it’s a highly venusian sign that focuses on its desire for partnerships, harmony and balance. Although this could make it an ideal time for romance and forming new relationships, we’re again during a cardinal sign season. Hence, all of the planets in Libra squared or will be squaring Saturn, Pluto and the karmic nodes. This makes it more a time for liberation, breaking chains in relationships, cutting energetic cords and setting boundaries so that your relationships improve.

Now, during this Full Moon, that represents the climax of this season, it’s when the Sun exactly squares with Pluto. This signifies that this first month of Fall, like Persephone, our destination was to meet with Hades, our inner underworld, so that we shed and release from what is affecting our relationships. However, since the Moon will be in Aries exactly squaring Pluto as well, it sheds light to the self, our individuality and we may be breaking free from what may be holding us back or meeting with our shadow or unhealthy ego in order to improve our relationship with the other.

FULL MOON SQUARE PLUTO

This tense aspect almost always signifies a time of endings, as Pluto is the planet of death, rebirth and transformation.  There may be something we have been holding on to since Pluto stationed retrograde in April 24th which was shortly after the new cycle that began with the New Moon in Aries that this lunar event culminate.

However, since October 3rd, this planet stationed direct, making this a time to let go of what we may have tried to keep or change what was already ripe. During Autumn, the tree leaves fall representing the shedding and death phase of the cycle of life. The Full Moon represents a time of emotional clarity, of hidden or foggy things coming to light. What is currently ending? What shadow aspects of yourself are you becoming aware of? These are questions to introspect on during this lunar event.

FULL MOON TRINE JUPITER

Jupiter is a highly benefic planet that gives abundance, expansion and progress. The two luminaries amaking an harmonious aspect to it when it’s making a tense one with Pluto, signifies that we will be coming out of the inner cave or break free what has been chaining us. After we´re liberated, we meet the expansion Jupiter brings symbolizing a broad horizon upon us and this is because as Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, it’s about entering an unknown field and bringing the new into our lives.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU

At the beginning of October, personal planets such as Mercury and Venus changed to Scorpio. Hence, as we’re releasing during Libra Season, the scorpionic energies already latent will guide us in the process of shedding and deconstructing. This is because the planets in Scorpio will make harmonious aspects to the planets in Capricorn. Whatever is being left behind may have to do with the themes of the eclipses, as Pluto, activated by this Full Moon, will be transiting the same area of life the eclipses occurred in your chart. The cosmic energies are clear that many are going through a process of ending and new beginnings. Some doors are closing and others are opening.  However, sometimes the astrology tells us the potential of things, but it’s up to us to do the inner work and open ourselves for the changes we want to make.

The best way to see how this lunar event will affect you is by seeing in what house it will transit in your chart. However, it’s also recommended to see your current situation and how you can apply it analogically to the topics of this Full Moon.

  1. Hey Kiara! If someone is mostly a total noob to astrology, is there a good book you’d recommend that would help us understand better some of the terms you’re using and basic astrology stuff beyond just our sun sign? (and thank you for any advice! 🙂

    1. Hey! The basic astrology books I read were in Spanish. However, in Amazon there are a lot of books that teach basic astrology, such as ¨Astrology made simple¨ and ¨The Only Astrology Book you´ll ever need¨. Although I´ve personally haven´t read them I´ve seen them be recommended by other astrologers. I also read ¨Aspects in Astrology¨ by Sue Tomppkins. I recommend it if you want to learn about the planetary aspects.
